Mitchell Lays Hammer Down in 3-1 Win
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters rode a solid performance from 21-year-old starting pitcher Larry Mitchell to a win, beating the St. Louis Explorers, 3-1, at Blockbuster Stadium. The Blockbusters bumped their record to 53-51 with this latest triumph.
Mitchell was in the zone all game. He frustrated St. Louis hitters while giving the Blockbusters 8.1 innings of quality work. Mitchell threw 116 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 12 punchouts.
"Larry gave us everything he had," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch.
