Scherf Pitches Gem as Bobcats Beat Brooklyn, 3-0
|
It was a quiet day for the Brooklyn Bluebirds at Lakefront Stadium -- a little too quiet. Cleveland Bobcats starter Roger Scherf silenced the Bluebirds, holding them to 6 hits and keeping them scoreless in a complete-game 3-0 win.
"It was frustrating against Scherf today," Brooklyn manager John Meeker said.
The Cleveland starting pitcher walked 2 and allowed 6 hits while fanning 5.
So far this year, Scherf has a 5-7 record with a 3.53 ERA.
