Dairymen Fall Short, 3-2, at Los Angeles
|
Los Angeles turned a good performance from starting pitcher Billy Duprey into a 3-2 triumph over the Milwaukee Dairymen at Blockbuster Stadium. Tom Benson earned the save, his 4th, for the Blockbusters. The Dairymen fall to 4-7 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1975 season.
Jim Brookins had a big run-scoring double for the Blockbusters in the bottom of the second inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a sinker from Dan Valenti, the 26th overall pick in the 1966 draft, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blockbusters ahead, 2-0.
"Billy gave us a heck of an effort," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch.
