Terriers Suffer 12-1 Drubbing
The Atlanta Generals beat the Boston Terriers, 12-1, at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Ed Mika, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Picking up the win was Scott Dubyak. He went 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits. The left--hander struck out 6 and walked 2. With the win, the Generals sit at 60-45.

The Terriers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Generals going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 1969 Rookie of the Year Award winner Roberto Palacios came to the plate. Palacios hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch cutter from Boston hurler Miguel Jimenez. It was Palacios's 14th home run of the year.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Atlanta manager Philipe Yazzie.
