Philadelphia Decked, 3-2, by Industrials
|
Pittsburgh beat Philadelphia on the strength of starting pitcher Jeff Munoz's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Ike Travis recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 33 for 39. Pittsburgh is now 63-45, 5 games up in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
Earl Yates had a big run-scoring double for the Industrials in the bottom of the first inning. With Pittsburgh leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from Rich Hodge, who is rated as the 65th best prospect by BNN, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Industrials ahead, 3-0.
"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Munoz.
