Pobladores Down Hawks, 8-6
|
Pobladores second baseman Manuel Castillo left his mark on his team's 8-6 win over the Chicago Hawks. Castillo, who is tied for 2nd in the ABL with a 1.007 OPS, slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for Los Angeles in the contest. Phil Lester, 3-4, earned the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. Los Angeles has 3 straight wins, Chicago 3 straight losses.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Castillo delivered big-time for Los Angeles, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Angel Villatoro. The game-changing hit put the Pobladores on top, 8-6.
"We came out aggressive," said Pobladores manager Alex Wobbema. "We came out swinging the bats."
