Knickerbockers Absorb 8-4 Home Loss
|
Washington left fielder Mike Lockhart had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the New York Knickerbockers, 8-4. The loss makes New York 57-49.
With Washington leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Lockhart hit a fastball from Dave Torre for a 2-run triple. It was his 5th triple of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 3-0.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Lockhart told the Washington Chronicle.
