Habitants Rally to Eke Out Win
The Montreal Habitants picked up a win at LaSalle Stadium, dropping the Toronto Hurons, 2-1, in 10 innings. Bob Schar, who led the ABL in innings pitched with 268.2 in 1967, was the difference-maker. Hervé Lelièvre, who finished 3rd in the ABL in saves with 18 in 1971, was the winner in relief. His record is now 6-4. The losing pitcher was Al Price. The Habitants, now 62-43, have won 6 in a row.

The Habitants got a clutch hit from second baseman Fernando Jimenez. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Habitants.

"Tough loss," said Toronto manager Jim Burns. "The kind that burns a little inside."
