Industrials Deal Bluebirds 3-2 Loss
|
Pittsburgh got a strong outing from Dennis Visco as the Industrials defeated the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 3-2, at Flatbush Park. Ray Williams picked up the save for Pittsburgh, his 3rd of the year. Early on, the Industrials, at 10-2, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
Pittsburgh used the hitting of Carlos Chavez to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Industrials on top, 2-0. For the game, Chavez had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Brooklyn manager John Meeker.
