Generals Prevail, 5-3, Over Montreal
|
The Atlanta Generals topped the Montreal Habitants, 5-3, in American Baseball League action at Atlantic Station Field. The standout performance belonged to Atlanta pitcher and Alvord, Texas, native George Palmer. Palmer got the win, improving to 9-7. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 8.2 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Atlanta, at 60-49, holds down third place in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.
Zach Hodge hit a 3-run home run off Dave Quigley in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Generals ahead, 4-2. In addition to the homer, Hodge had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
Atlanta manager Philipe Yazzie commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
