Generals Get Clutch Win Versus Boston
Atlanta beat Boston at Atlantic Station Field, escaping with a 7-6 win in 10 innings. The win in large part was due to third baseman Preston Lee. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Paul Hodges, now 4-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The Generals improved their record to 55-54 with the win over Boston.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Lee hit a fastball from Bill Falcon for a solo home run. The Generals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"This place sure got loud," said Philipe Yazzie, the Atlanta manager.
