Dairymen Absorb 7-1 Home Loss
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters knocked off the Milwaukee Dairymen, 7-1, in National Baseball League action at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. Los Angeles pitcher and Mobile, Alabama, native Larry Mitchell had an outstanding performance. Mitchell, who is tied for 5th in the NBL in quality starts with 18, went the distance for Los Angeles. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. Los Angeles is now 53-58, while Milwaukee is 33-76.
Norm Parsons had a big 3-run home run for the Blockbusters in the top of the sixth inning. With Los Angeles leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Dan Valenti, who is tied for 9th in the NBL in strikeouts with 97, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Blockbusters on top, 7-1.
Said losing manager Brandon Dudley: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
