Generals Get Extra-Inning, 3-2 Win
|
The Generals grabbed a win, 3-2, at Atlantic Station Field, overcoming a fine effort from Toronto pitcher Larry Haines. Haines went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. With the win, the Generals improved to 61-47.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Atlanta shortstop Kyle Devine, facing Ron Gordon, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Generals the 3-2 win.
"We had a chance to win," said Toronto manager Jim Burns, "but we didn't get it done."
