5-2 Loss to Blockbusters Extends St. Louis Losing Streak
The Los Angeles Blockbusters got a stellar effort from pitcher Jerry Wilson, helping Los Angeles score a win over the visiting St. Louis Explorers, 5-2. Wilson got the win, improving to 3-4. He gave up 3 hits and walked 5 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs. St. Louis has now lost 7 in a row.

Duane Kennedy had a big 2-run home run for the Blockbusters in the bottom of the first inning. With Los Angeles leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Harlan Estes, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1965 draft, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Blockbusters on top, 4-0.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood.
