Washington ruined an otherwise fine effort from Denny Grissinger by toppling Milwaukee, 4-1. The Milwaukee pitcher threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win takes Washington to 5-6.

Dustin Guest, who led the ABL in batting average with .332 in 1970, helped out the Washington cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 1-3 with a hit by pitch.

Guest called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
