The Milwaukee Dairymen grabbed a win, 6-3, over the San Diego Captains at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. Milwaukee pitcher Leon Hughes threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs. Hughes, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. Mike Brown recorded the save, making him 17 for 26.

Hughes contributed in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Milwaukee get the win.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley.
