Bobcats Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Cleveland Bobcats electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.
Cleveland beat Brooklyn at Lakefront Stadium, escaping with a 7-6 win in 15 innings. The win in large part was due to left fielder Phil Chirico. He was 3-6 with a triple, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Cleveland has now won 4 straight, while the Bluebirds have lost 3 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 15th inning, when Cleveland second baseman Benito Olivas, facing Dave Norman, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bobcats the 7-6 win.
"This game had its share of tense moments," Olivas said, postgame.
