Bulls Beaten By Traders, 4-3
|
Despite a fine performance by right fielder Ken Durick, the Kansas City Bulls lost to the Chicago Traders, 4-3. Durick went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Skip Crawford. He tossed 103 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The win elevated the Traders to 56-53.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Jeff Madsen to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Traders on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Madsen told the Chicago Bulletin.
