Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Pittsburgh Industrials and Cincinnati Packers.

Starting pitcher Joe Nall pitched well enough to help the Pittsburgh Industrials beat the Cincinnati Packers, 6-5. The winner was Nall. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Damon Rutherford.

Tom Crowell, who finished 2nd in the NBL in stolen bases with 46 in 1969, helped out the Pittsburgh cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the right fielder went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Crowell.

The triumph puts Pittsburgh at 65-46 for the season.
