Knickerbockers Lose to Eagles, 7-3
|
The Washington Eagles racked up a win at Monument Field, bumping off the New York Knickerbockers, 7-3. Tom McAteer, who started for Washington, pitched effectively for his team. Washington has now won 3 in a row.
Gary Long hit a run-scoring double off Dave Torre in the bottom of the third, which put the Eagles in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Long had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Long said.
