Chicago pitcher Kevin Edwards did his part in helping his team defeat the Toronto Hurons, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. By defeating Toronto, the 6th-place Hawks improved to 46-65.

The decisive blow was delivered by Don Bozza in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off three-time All-Star Ben Immel to win the game for Chicago. The home crowd went nuts.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Bozza.
