Milwaukee Loses, 4-3, in 17
|
The San Diego Captains downed the Milwaukee Dairymen, 4-3, at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. The Captains were led by Randy Barnes. Barnes went 5 for 7 with a triple, 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. San Diego reliever Howard McDonnell picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Danny Guerra took the loss. The victory gives San Diego a record of 66-45.
Barnes had a game-changing triple in the top of the 17th. On a first pitch fastball from Danny Guerra, he banged a run-scoring triple to left-center, giving the Captains a 4-3 lead. It was the 9th triple of the year for Barnes.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley.
