San Diego Gets 4-2 Win
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the San Diego Captains and Milwaukee Dairymen were able to complete their ballgame.
Behind the hitting of Ernie Wilkins, the San Diego Captains stopped the Milwaukee Dairymen, 4-2. Wilkins went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Captains. The win belonged to Ken Craig in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Keith Williams took the loss for Milwaukee. Jack DeWitt wrapped it up, recording his 16th save.
Early in the game, Wilkins had a 2-run double for San Diego. It was his 26th double of the season and put the Captains on top, 2-0.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Wilkins.
San Diego goes to 69-42. The win puts them 5½ games up in their division.
