The Denver Burros found a way to sneak past the St. Louis Explorers, 4-3, in 15 innings. Denver pitcher Pete Stack, for one, had a standout performance. Denver now sits at 47-63, while St. Louis falls to 62-49.

Dick Hoffmeier had a direct impact on the outcome. Hoffmeier contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 15th inning to put Denver up, 4-3.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood.
