The Chicago Hawks beat the Houston Drillers, 6-2. Chicago pitcher and Cape Coral, Florida, native Ken Eldridge led the way. Angel Villatoro earned the save for Chicago, his 2nd of the year. The Drillers fall to 5-7 and continue their sputtering start to the 1976 season.

Chicago used a well-timed hit by Don Bozza to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hawks ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We did a lot of things right," said Bozza.
