Bluebirds Sunk by Industrials
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds had their hands full with Pittsburgh Industrials starter Roger Long, who frustrated Brooklyn hitters while leading Pittsburgh to a comfortable, 7-1 win. Pittsburgh reliever Roger Long got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Dick Conway was tagged with the loss. With the win, the Industrials have a record of 63-48.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 24-year old third baseman Keith MacPherson. MacPherson had a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Industrials ahead, 7-1. For the game, MacPherson had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Things didn't bounce our way," said Brooklyn skipper John Meeker.
