Knickerbockers Drop Bobcats, 7-1
|
The Knickerbockers grabbed a win, 7-1, at Lakefront Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Cleveland pitcher Myron Baird. Baird went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. With the victory, the Knickerbockers upped their record to 57-53.
The Knickerbockers got a big at-bat from third baseman Steve Wells. For the game, Wells went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. In the top of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave New York a 1-0 lead.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Wells said.
