Eagles Slip Past Cleveland, 2-1
|
Rick Tomlinson pitched well, but his team, the Cleveland Bobcats, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Washington Eagles at Monument Field. Washington has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Jerry Duersch was the walk-off hero for Washington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Eagles second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Exhilarating win," said Duersch.
