Northmen Take Down Seagulls, 3-2
|
The Twin Cities Northmen faced a tough opponent in San Francisco pitcher Jimmy Trent, but still scratched out a win at Mission Field by a final score of 3-2 in 11 innings. Trent went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Joe Gibson, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in saves with 13, was the winner in relief. His record is now 9-6. The losing pitcher was Dave Maughan. Tommy Lloyd got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances.
Juan Alicea had a direct impact on the outcome. Alicea contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning to put Twin Cities up, 3-2.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
Twin Cities raised its record to 60-51 with the win.
