The Seattle Emeralds beat the Los Angeles Pobladores, 14-10, at San Vicente Park. The win was due in part to shortstop Roberto Soto, who was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Corey Spencer, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 4.1 innings.

With Seattle leading 2-0 in the top of the first, Soto hit a slider from Rick Beasley for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Emeralds ahead, 4-0.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Soto said. "We did a good job of that today."

The win moves Seattle to a record of 7-4.
