The New York Empires defeated the Toronto Hurons, 7-3, in American Baseball League action at Dominion Field. New York pitcher Larry Stanford had a standout performance. Stanford, who is tied for 5th in the ABL with a 1.08 WHIP, went the distance for New York. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. New York is now 55-56, Toronto 50-61.

Dave Helms, who finished 5th in the ABL in on-base percentage with .365 in 1968, helped out the New York cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4.
