The Montreal Habitants rode a solid performance from 29-year-old starting pitcher Erv Koenig to a win, beating the Detroit Wolverines, 6-2, at Wolverine Field. With the win over Detroit, the Habitants improved to 52-59.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Jeff Murchison was at the plate when Montreal scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Habitants to go in front, 3-2.

"I like to lead by example," said Murchison. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
