Knickerbockers Snatch Late-Game, 12-11 Win
The New York Knickerbockers downed the Pittsburgh Industrials, 12-11, in 13 innings. Pedro Barrera led the way, going 2-for-5 for New York. The winner was New York reliever Bruce Owen, now 6-1. The loser was Gene Steinhauer. The Knickerbockers now have a record of 64-47 with the win over Pittsburgh.

The decisive blow was delivered by Francisco Chavez in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a solo home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Gene Steinhauer to win the game for New York. The home crowd went nuts.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Timothy Widholm, the New York skipper.
