With Late Score, Bobcats Beat Eagles
The Cleveland Bobcats had to overcome a fine effort from Washington pitcher Ramon Juarez to win, 5-4, at Monument Field. Juarez went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. The win for the Bobcats raised their record to 58-55.

Cleveland used the timely hitting of Norm Lane to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bobcats on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We found a way to get it done," Lane said.
