Cincinnati Wins, Salas has 4 RBI
|
The 6-1 Cincinnati win over Washington was due largely to Daniel Salas. The Packers second baseman was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Art Ledington got the win, improving to 8-9. He pitched 8.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 4. Cincinnati is now 53-59, Washington 48-65.
With Cincinnati leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Salas hit a fastball from Bill John for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Packers ahead, 3-0.
