Starting pitcher Pat Burkholder gave the Seattle Emeralds a rock-solid effort. The Warren, Michigan native helped his team defeat the Los Angeles Pobladores, 3-2, at Puget Field. Carroll Reynolds snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 4-2 on the season. Seattle is now 48-62, Los Angeles 59-51.

Al Link was the walk-off hero for Seattle. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Emeralds pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

After the game, Seattle manager Mark Velez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
