Barry Gilmore, who finished 3rd in the ABL in strikeouts with 178 in 1975, never let the Seagulls get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Wranglers to a win, 4-1. Gilmore got the win, improving to 8-6. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Frank Dunn collected his 20th save.

With the game tied, 1-1, in the top of the fifth, Gilmore had a key at-bat for Dallas. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Gilmore hit a 2-run single off Tim Stambaugh, making the score 3-1, Wranglers.
