Scott Litwak pitched well, but the Detroit Wolverines still lost the game, falling, 4-0, to the Atlanta Generals at Atlantic Station Field. Bill Davis, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1968 draft, was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Renie White wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.

Atlanta took a 4-0 lead on Roberto Palacios's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Palacios hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Detroit pitcher Warren Washington visibly frustrated.

"It never gets old," said Palacios. "Winning, that is."

The Wolverines drop to 4-7, as their stumbling start to the 1974 season continues.
