One Run Not Enough for Bluebirds
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Pittsburgh Industrials and Brooklyn Bluebirds.
The Pittsburgh Industrials racked up a win at Flatbush Park, bumping off the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 2-1. Dick Witt, who started for Pittsburgh, pitched effectively for his team. The Pittsburgh win streak is now 3 games.
The Industrials got a big at-bat from center fielder Carlos Chavez. For the game, Chavez was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Pittsburgh a 2-0 lead.
"Dick showed what he's made of," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker.
