San Francisco Seagulls starter Tim Stambaugh turned in a top-notch performance against the Houston Drillers at Sam Houston Field. The result was a win for the Seagulls, 3-2. Dave Maughan was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 12 save opportunities. The triumph puts San Francisco at 69-43 for the season.

Steve Ostler had a direct impact on the outcome. Ostler contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-1.

In comments to the San Francisco Observer, Ostler admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
