Quakers Suffer 5-2 Home Defeat
The Cleveland Bobcats got a marvelous performance from pitcher Myron Baird. The right-hander kept the Philadelphia offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 Cleveland victory at Quakers Stadium. With the victory, the Bobcats upped their record to 69-43.

Bill Harper had a big 2-run home run for the Bobcats in the top of the third inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Randy Adams, who finished 3rd in the NBL in innings pitched with 268.1 in 1968, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Bobcats on top, 3-0.

"We're one win closer to our goal," Harper said in postgame remarks.
