The Los Angeles Pobladores topped the Houston Drillers, 8-6, with center fielder Joe Roberson playing a big role. Roberson went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Pobladores in the win. Los Angeles pitcher George Conrad earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Rick McStay suffered the loss. The third-place Pobladores are now 61-54, the Drillers 60-54.

Roberson had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the second for the Pobladores. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Los Angeles trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.

In postgame comments to the Los Angeles Citizen, Roberson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
