Eagles Stumble, Losing to Bluebirds, 5-0
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds converted a terrific effort from starter Rod Henry into a win over the Washington Eagles at Flatbush Park. The Bluebirds won the game by a final score of 5-0. The winning pitcher was Henry, now 2-6. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 3. The third-place Bluebirds now sit at 57-58.
Greg Landrum helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Bluebirds.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Brooklyn skipper John Meeker.
