Salas Hits 2 home runs in Packers Win
The Cincinnati Packers topped the New York Knickerbockers, 7-1, at Knickerbocker Stadium. Cincinnati second baseman Daniel Salas was a spark plug for the offense. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Cincinnati currently is in 5th place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division at 55-59.

Cincinnati shortstop Roger Bruno contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 22nd hit of the season and put the Packers ahead, 3-1.

"Anyone who says he's not out there thinking about personal accomplishments is not telling the truth," Salas said later.
