The New York Empires used the hitting of right fielder Al Castro to subdue the Montreal Habitants, 7-4. For the game, Castro went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jack Pratt earned the save for New York, his 3rd of the year. With their winning streak at 4, the Empires have raced to a strong start this season.

New York took a 7-4 lead on Castro's 5th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Lawrence Connor in the bottom of the seventh, propelled New York to the win.

"I like our mindset right now," said New York manager Dan Whiting.
