Buddy Wharton left his imprint on the 10-4 Baltimore win against the New York Empires. Wharton, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1970 draft, went 2-5 with a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Dan Valenti, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 11-2. The second-place Lords hiked their record to 62-51.
