Empires Roll to 9-3 Win Over Hurons
The New York Empires faced a tough opponent in Toronto pitcher Tom DeGagne, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Queens Field by a final score of 9-3. DeGagne went 5 innings and allowed no runs. The Empires move to 61-55 with the win, while the Hurons drop to 53-63.

Catcher Eddie Ellison made an impact for New York, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Bill John in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Ellison was 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
