Packers Earn 5-4 Win Versus Knickerbockers
The Cincinnati Packers picked up a win at Roman Arena, knocking off the New York Knickerbockers, 5-4. On the mound for Cincinnati was left-hander John Stoddard. He played a key role in the triumph. The win went to Jerry Pugh in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Ollie Hundley took the loss. The 5th-place Packers now have a record of 54-62.

Ron Brown was the walk-off hero for Cincinnati. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Packers pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Brown said.
