New York and Cleveland duked it out and the Knickerbockers came out victorious.
Jack Forbes, who is tied for 4th in the NBL in wins with 12, propelled his team to victory over the Cleveland Bobcats. The final score was 7-5, New York. Tim Fried, now 6-7, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3 innings.
New York took the lead, 7-5, on Steve Hudson's 21st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Cleveland pitcher Joe Clabaugh in the bottom of the eighth.
"We have a lot of confidence in Jack," said New York manager Timothy Widholm.
With the win over Cleveland, the Knickerbockers improved to 66-48.
