Jeff McCarthy made an impact in the 5-4 Los Angeles win over San Diego. McCarthy was 2-3 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Fred Wild finished the game for Los Angeles and earned his 1st save.

McCarthy contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was one at-bat among others that helped Los Angeles get the win.

"I felt good up there," said McCarthy. "I saw the ball well."

The loss drops the Captains to 0-2.
