Pobladores Come Back Late to Top Drillers, 6-4
The Los Angeles Pobladores defeated the Houston Drillers, 6-4, in American Baseball League action at San Vicente Park. Paul McCarthy pulled his weight. The 8-year veteran went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Drillers, now 60-55, have lost 4 in a row.

Los Angeles took a 6-4 lead on McCarthy's 10th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Bill Switzer in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Los Angeles to the win.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," McCarthy told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
