Bernie Underwood could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Kansas City Bulls lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Pittsburgh Industrials at Independence Field. Bob Cole earned the save for Pittsburgh, his 3rd of the year. Early on, the Industrials, at 10-2, have excelled.

Pittsburgh relied on the bat of Don Keough to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Industrials ahead, 2-1. For the game, Keough had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Keough crowed after the game.
