Wranglers Lose By a Run at Detroit
|
Detroit Wolverines starter Doug Fiorentino pitched a strong game against the Dallas Wranglers at Wolverine Field, leading the Wolverines to victory, 3-2. Jim Riddle earned the save for Detroit, his 1st of the year. Detroit's record now stands at 57-58, placing them 4th in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.
Troy Stallings, who finished 2nd in the ABL in doubles with 38 in 1975, chipped in a solo home run for Detroit in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Stallings said.
