Hawks Sneak By Pobladores, 2-1

Hyde Park Stadium played host to some dramatic action.
Kevin Edwards brought his A-game to help Chicago defeat the Los Angeles Pobladores, 2-1. Angel Villatoro, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in saves with 18, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 9-4.
In the bottom of the seventh, with two out and the game tied, 0-0, 30-year old first baseman Tyree Davis won it for Chicago. With a runner on 2nd, Davis hit a 1-2 curveball from Dave Wynn for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 1-0 win.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Edwards told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
The Hawks, at 49-67, sit in last place in the American Baseball League Western Division.
