Harper Jacks Two Home Runs in 8-2 Cleveland Win
Cleveland took on Kansas City in front of a lively crowd.

Behind the hitting of Bill Harper, the Cleveland Bobcats stopped the Kansas City Bulls, 8-2. Harper went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Bobcats. The winning pitcher was Myron Baird. His record now stands at 10-8. The right-hander went 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 10 hits for the Bobcats.

Early in the game, Harper had a 3-run home run for Cleveland. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Bobcats on top, 3-0.

"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager DD Martin.

By defeating Kansas City, the second-place Bobcats improved to 62-54.
